Brand Overview
In the late Qing Dynasty, Wang A-de, along with his family,
fled the turmoil and moved to Shaoxing, where he started a steamed bun business near the Guandi Temple.
The buns were steamed to perfection, soft and fragrant, with a lingering aftertaste that quickly gained
popularity among locals, becoming a gold-standard snack in Shaoxing.
Later, after his business prospered, Wang A-de opened the "Mang Gang Le" bun shop in
a two-story building by the river, with an elegant upstairs seating area.
It became a renowned spot, cherished by the old Shaoxing locals.
Today, Mang Gang Le continues the tradition of master craftsmanship,
offering century-old delicacies like the famous steamed buns named "Houkou Bao" as well as Shaoxing cuisine,
which is characterized by fermented, pickled, and marinated dishes.
The brand honors the culinary heritage of Shaoxing, bringing its century-old flavors into the modern era,
reviving a time-honored name with a fresh, new energy.
